But I haven’t posted it until now as it’s been a very tough week in our house. We sadly lost both of our beloved bunnies, Lenny and Maisie, just a few days apart, to a horrible virus. Needless to say we are absolutely heartbroken 💔 Hoping a little more painting will be healing today.

I think it looks really magical and like a fairytale, all performed by the elements above, meeting in a short space and time and being further imagined into by me with the play of photographs.

Untitled - Gregg McNeill - For World Wet Plate Day I tried an experiment. Pinhole Wetplate. The exposure time was 4 minutes in full sun. This was on clear glass. Results are mixed. Absolutely and terribly underexposed. Longer exposure risked the plate drying (nearly 2 minutes was used taking everything outside to set up and bringing it all back in after exposure, so if I'd had an assistant, I would have been able to expose longer.). I'm pleased with the sharpness though... I had to recess the pinhole for maximum sharpness.

Untitled - Emma Wheeler - Hello everyone I hope you all are doing OK. I made this cyanotype yesterday using a digital negative of a picture from a lovely book 'Art Forms in Nature' by Ernst Haeckel. I didn't invert it as I thought it might look better as a white print on the blue (being a sea creature!). Unfortunately I ripped the paper surface quite badly before making the print as I had been a bit slap dash masking it up with masking tape and then I forgot to peel it off for a week or so....So this ended up as more of an experiment really to see how the print would come out. It was a bit over exposed too.... 4m 30 in the sun. Never mind - every day is a school day! 😉

Lilacs - Ray Spence - When things go wrong. The first plate of lilacs suffered from obvious problems from terrible dev pour onwards. However a few plates later the result was OK. Sunny day so decided to dry plates in the sun. As I was picking the drying rack I thought I'd better not drop this! Exactly. The only one I have left is the first reject. Back to the studio when the sun goes in!

I’m not quite happy with the sharpness yet but that might also be related to the crappy camera. I used a Delta 3200 film in order to get the aperture down (sharpness - remember). All pictures are taken between f16 and f5.6. and metered for ISO 1600 with a free iphone app. Development in #Caffenol So nothing to see here, really :

I think it looks really magical and like a fairytale, all performed by the elements above, meeting in a short space and time and being further imagined into by me with the play of photographs.

Untitled - Gregg McNeill - For World Wet Plate Day I tried an experiment. Pinhole Wetplate. The exposure time was 4 minutes in full sun. This was on clear glass. Results are mixed. Absolutely and terribly underexposed. Longer exposure risked the plate drying (nearly 2 minutes was used taking everything outside to set up and bringing it all back in after exposure, so if I'd had an assistant, I would have been able to expose longer.). I'm pleased with the sharpness though... I had to recess the pinhole for maximum sharpness.

Untitled - Emma Wheeler - Hello everyone I hope you all are doing OK. I made this cyanotype yesterday using a digital negative of a picture from a lovely book 'Art Forms in Nature' by Ernst Haeckel. I didn't invert it as I thought it might look better as a white print on the blue (being a sea creature!). Unfortunately I ripped the paper surface quite badly before making the print as I had been a bit slap dash masking it up with masking tape and then I forgot to peel it off for a week or so....So this ended up as more of an experiment really to see how the print would come out. It was a bit over exposed too.... 4m 30 in the sun. Never mind - every day is a school day! 😉

Lilacs - Ray Spence - When things go wrong. The first plate of lilacs suffered from obvious problems from terrible dev pour onwards. However a few plates later the result was OK. Sunny day so decided to dry plates in the sun. As I was picking the drying rack I thought I'd better not drop this! Exactly. The only one I have left is the first reject. Back to the studio when the sun goes in!

I’m not quite happy with the sharpness yet but that might also be related to the crappy camera. I used a Delta 3200 film in order to get the aperture down (sharpness - remember). All pictures are taken between f16 and f5.6. and metered for ISO 1600 with a free iphone app. Development in #Caffenol So nothing to see here, really :
