I own a small ltd company of which i am the sole employee/director. I work in the audio visual industry and it has basically stopped dead. I am not one of those who can benefit from any of the government help. The companies I work with continue to plan and pitch for jobs that utilise my services and products and I expect that once we are out of lockdown business will recover for me quite quickly (at least i get the feeling that will be the case). The trick for me will be staying in business long enough for that to happen. Couple of months and it’s fine…longer and it could be a bit scary. Melanie, my wife, is in the “At risk” group so she has now not been out for several weeks and as we have limited delivery slots for food i have to go out to supermarket every few days…and i never thought i’d find it stressful having to go to the shops…but it is. In fact this whole experience is very stressful.
I am trying to think of ways to “Work” rather than spend all my time doing art. I’m trying to keep the art stuff as a “treat” Someone in our street started a facebook group just for residents and i’m going to try to make some cyanotype sensitised paper to give to local families so they can get their kids making prints easily and safely. I need to do some tests to make sure they can survive in the dark for a few days and be used but i think it’d be a nice thing to do if i can. Any top tips would be ideal…Might have to order some more paper as i think i’ve not got much left!
I do enjoy seeing all the varied things that folk are getting up to here though! I’ll update the group on whether i manage to get the street involved as we go on…..
